Reiki/Energy Healing As Pamela Tanner Knows It
"We Are All Connected Healers"
The simply beautiful thing about Reiki, is that it can be practiced anywhere and everywhere. Anyone can practice Reiki on themselves or others. Reiki is very much a spiritual awakening when one learns the ancient healing and meditative relaxation methods. Everything is energy and that is exactly what Reiki is. A universal life force, an ever present life energy. The word "Reiki" itself, is comprised of two Chinese characters. The first one is, "Rei", which can mean heart, spirit or feeling. The second character is, "Ki", which also can be translated into, "Chi", which means energy. The two most commonly used translations of these two characters, mean, "Universal Life Force", or, "Cosmic Energy".
The Five Reiki Principles are:
1. Just for today don't get angry
2. Just for today don't worry
3. Just for today be grateful
4. Just for today work hard
5. Just for today be kind to others
Reiki has it's roots in ancient Buddhism, Tibetan Vajra, Chinese Quigong and Shintoism. One of the original Reiki Masters was Jesus himself. In many stained glass windows throughout the world's churches, Jesus is depicted with his palms faced upwards, with a bright, radiating light emanating from the middle of his hands, where he was eventually nailed to the cross. Reiki is a wonderful, complimentary tool for self healing and all modalities. Reiki allows one to be open to the multi layers and facets of the ever evolving dimensions of our universe and our own innate, intuitive abilities.
Pamela Tanner experienced traditional Reiki for the very first time, in May 2003 when she studied under two Reiki Masters, John and Chrystalla Chew of The Amethyst Reiki Centre. She knew immediately that she had been practicing energy healing ever since she was a little girl. As a child, Pamela Tanner was always drawn to the sick and elderly. She always felt great compassion for their suffering and quiet desperation. Pamela Tanner felt peaceful sitting with the sick and bringing them comfort by her presence. Simply holding their hand or gently moving it up and down their arm was also comforting. As a child, this is not something Pamela Tanner was taught. It was an instinctual response to touch those who needed to feel cared about, who needed comfort by human touch, who needed her energy and that of the Universe. Pamela Tanner also knew that when she found herself inside a church, she was always drawn to the light emanating from the palms of the hands of Jesus. Pamela Tanner was told that she also practiced Vajra and was a, "Wisdom Keeper". Pamela Tanner has come to know that Vajra is one of the oldest forms of Reiki or energy healing from the Tibetan culture. It was very much practiced in the end of life stages to help those cross over with peace and serenity.
For Pamela Tanner, Reiki and Vajra are most definitely gifts that she was given, that she was born with. As a Medical Intuitive, people's bodies speak to her and she is able to see and feel their energy or lack there of. If people have a weakness or an illness, Pamela Tanner is drawn to that area and her hands instinctively go where they need to be in order to assist in the healing or the root cause of their illness or pain. While her hands are where they are supposed to be, Pamela Tanner instinctively goes into a form of accelerated breath work, that transports energy, somewhat like Star Trek where Captain Kirk says, "Beam me up Scotty". As she takes a breath in, she looks up with her eyes closed and sees and feels a warm penetrating, bright light that trickles down from above, all the while cascading, filtering and pouring into her.
When PamelaTanner is filled with this energy, she slowly blows out this breath of energy, her head bows in reverence and she transports this energy she carries, through her body and out of her hands into the organs that need it. It is like an accelerated form of Reiki or energy healing. The emotional healing that ensues is always an integral part of this mutual exchange. What Pamela Tanner does, what is done through her, has been described as an, "Ancient Indian Tantric Meditative Technique", that compliments her Vajra/Reiki/Energy experience. It is, "Attention between eyebrows, let mind be before thought, let form fill with breath essence, to the top of the head".
Pamela Tanner hasn't been taught this, learned about it, read about it or experienced it personally. It was given to her, bestowed upon her and it brings her such gentle humility. It is done through her, assisted by many in the spirit world. Those who have crossed over, even bring Pamela Tanner many familiar aromas in nature to assist with the healing. People thank Pamela Tanner for the energy healing, but, she always tells them that it wasn't her, that she is just a trusted conduit, a spiritual messenger, a pure, clear energy channel. Over the past three years, Pamela Tanner has connected with numerous like minded energy healers who all work in many forms of healing.
Reiki has been around since the 1970's, an oriental version of spiritual healing, though in its original Japanese form the emphasis was very much on self-healing, spiritual development and channeling energy. Reiki was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui of Kyoto at the beginning of this century. It was Dr. Usui's quest for a religious experience through meditation and a fasting retreat that allowed him to experience Reiki on Mount Kurama in Kyoto in the year 1922.
